Amend with distortion
February 23, 2023
This piece was my second sonata that I ever composed. I was just starting out as a freshman in college, fully determined to get my music out there as soon as possible, however I also wanted to start out with something strong!
My original conception of how I would start out was with a multi-instrument piece called "Good Morning, Julia!", named after Julia Ettie Crane. This plan did not go into fruition and was canceled just before the performance it was supposed to debut on.

In a fit of rage and disappointment, I started writing the second movement for "Amend With Distortion" as an attack on myself and my pretentiousness, as I started writing it at around November 2022.
After spending months to write the second movement, I realized the structure of the composition as a whole would be better if there was a prelude, so I quickly made a first movement. This piece was my way of putting my foot in the door and making a name for myself.

This would become my song of redemption!
